This version of the ACR1252U has been enhanced, so that it can support the use of mobile wallet passes. It has been certified for Apple VAS (value-added services) and Google Smart Tap applications, such as loyalty schemes, tickets, and staff or student IDs. The ACR1252U-MW is housed in a plastic case with a captive cable.

The ACR1252 from ACS is a 13.56 MHz USB contactless smartcard reader that supports ISO 14443 type A and B cards, MIFARE, FeliCa, and ISO 18092-compliant NFC cards and tags. There is a long term private key stored inside the secure element for Google Smart Tap.

NFC Forum certification means that the ACR1252U supports three modes of NFC: card reader/writer, card emulation and peer-to-peer communication.

The ACR1252 is CCID and PC/SC compliant, allowing interoperability with various different devices and applications.

The ACR1252 is compatible with Read-a-Card, the contactless card ID reading application, useful for the integration of RFID technology into new or existing systems.

APIs are available for Apple VAS and Google Smart Tap, along with basic ACS VAS Test Tools for Windows/Linux in the free WalletMate EVK, available on request. These will allow you to test NFC mobile wallet passes on this reader.

If you would like the free WalletMate EVK software for this product, please request it in the Special Instructions section when placing your order.

In order to control the operation of this reader in an application you will need the software development kit, which can be purchased separately. Your application itself will also require approvals before mobile passes can be obtained. If you are developing a mobile wallet application do please contact us and we will be happy to offer advice or help you refine your requirements.
